Guided by the principles of the Twelve Steps, we support and serve our Residents to protect their overall well-being and build their dignity, sobriety and integrity. We are open to all women, without discrimination, and will bless them with an environment of hope, joy, peace and love. We challenge and help them develop sharp, renewed and enlightened minds; soft, humble and pure hearts; and tough, surrendered and persevering wills. We work to empower our Residents to be strong and faith-filled women, loving and faithful wives, loving and nurturing mothers, competent and honorable members of the workforce and virtuous and productive members of society.
Our Recovery Support Advocate and House Director of Operations are part of the Recovery Community and deeply understand not only the challenges of recovery but also the steps necessary to experience the joys of recovery.
For the duration of their stay at Haven of Hope, Residents are required to work with a Big Book Step Study sponsor of their choosing who will act as the Resident’s partner and advisor.
Our Guidelines and Standards provide a structured framework to enable Residents to thrive within a stable Community where they are supported and celebrated.
Your weekly Resident Fee will vary depending on whether you have a shared or private room. You may inquire about our room availability and, at that time, we can inform you of what the applicable weekly Resident Fee will be. Residents typically pay their weekly Resident Fee either from their own income [and/or savings], financial support from a loved one, and/or a scholarship from an organization that makes payment on your behalf. The Resident Fee is not typically covered by health insurance.
We encourage Residents to be diligent in maintaining and improving their mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health. As part of that, we monitor Resident’s medication usage and we do not allow medications and/or dosage levels that we believe may be detrimental to Residents’ recovery journey. Upon your inquiry about our room availability, we will need you to share with us all medications that you’re on and the dosage levels. We can then inform you on whether or not they comply with our Guidelines and Standards.
For the duration of your stay, you’ll be required to adhere to the House curfew hours and sign out and sign in whenever you depart and return to Haven of Hope. You’ll also be required to provide your destination when signing out. You may submit Overnight, Weekend or Holiday passes for Staff approval. For a variety of reasons, we require that you keep us informed at all times of your whereabouts and who you are with – failure to do so may result in us discharging you from the House. Upon your inquiry about our room availability, we can further inform you about these and any other requirements outlined in our House Guidelines and Standards.
For move-in, you should plan to bring only a suitcase with your personal belongings and toiletries. Note that televisions are not allowed in sleeping quarters and you may not bring your own television. We have a television in each of our three common gathering areas (community meeting/living room, dining room and our semi-private sitting area on the lower-level). Premium cable on our three common area televisions, Netflix and Wi-Fi internet access are all included in your Resident Fee.
Not only do we invite visitors, but also we encourage Residents to rebuild and/or deepen their relationships with loved ones within their support system. Our visiting hours are 9am to 6pm, 7 days a week. Visitor access is restricted to common areas on the main level of the building.
You may keep a cell phone during your time at Haven of Hope. Cell phone use is prohibited during AA/NA meetings and during all Haven of Hope group meetings and activities. Cell phone and electronics usage should not disrupt other Residents’ peaceful enjoyment in the House.
Rely on the principles of the Twelve Steps and the wisdom of the Bible to provide a stable, structured, and supportive environment, conducive to living a sober life, free of drugs and alcohol while healing hurts, habits and hang-ups. We’re open to all women, without discrimination, and will bless them with an environment of peace, hope and joy.
