“Back in January 2019, I decided enough was enough. I went to detox and got off all of my addictive prescription medication. From there I went to a CSS in Boston where they found Haven of Hope, where my journey really began. I got a ‘get well’ job at a local breakfast place and focused on me and my newly found recovery. Then COVID 19 hit, my job was closed and I took the opportunity to go back to school. I got my LADC, continued on to complete my Associates in Human Services, and graduate with my bachelor's in Human services in December 2024. I plan on immediately starting my masters in clinical psychology. I got married in 2023 to my best friend and I currently work as a drug and alcohol counselor at a local methadone clinic. My year and a half spent at Haven of Hope was very instrumental in building my foundation for my recovery and the life I am so blessed to live today. I will forever be grateful to Haven of Hope.”

“The day I walked through the doors of Haven of Hope, I felt a sense of peace that had been missing for most of my life. The love and support I encounter every day has been transformative. I have found hope, faith, acceptance and so much more on my sobriety journey and will be forever grateful for this true ‘haven of hope’.”

“Haven of Hope is exactly as the name implies. I walked through those doors broken and disconnected, only to walk out with a renewed sense of self and a faith in my Higher Power. My old behaviors were challenged and in turn I was able to grow. Not a day goes by that I don’t thank the universe for the life I have today, which all started at Haven of Hope.”

“I came to Haven of Hope on the 4th of July 2016. I had lost my job, home, health, sanity and ...hope for my future due to my alcoholism, selfishness, and self-pity. I owe my recovery to this house, the managers, the residents, my sponsor, and a program which taught me that I cannot "run the show" and my own thinking, insecurities and fears have been the root of my addiction not ‘everything else’. My outlook on life has changed drastically, I am rediscovering myself and I am grateful every day. Thank you Haven of Hope eternally. All is not lost.”

“Haven of Hope has been an integral part of my recovery. I entered Haven of Hope a broken human being in April of 2016. The Staff always made themselves available to speak with me and in my early recovery that was so very helpful for me. Till this day, their Director stays connected with me, checks in on me and maintains our relationship, which has evolved into a friendship. I still reach out to her when I need advice. In addition to being a friend, she’s also a mentor. Haven of Hope has been and still is a blessing in my life.”
